What do you think of when you hear the phrase, "Happy Holidays?" Most people in the United States think of Christmas, but did you know there are lots of winter holidays celebrated all over the world? Jewish people celebrate Hanukah (or Chanukkah) which lasts for 8 days. Hindu families in India celebrate Diwali. The Winter Solstice, this year December 21st, marks the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Many African-American families celebrate Kwanzaa as well as Christmas.
